Setting up Eudora Light
| Run Eudora Light by double clicking the icon on your desktop. If this is the first time you ran the program it will open up a configuration dialog box. If not then go to Tools and then Options to bring up the configuration dialog box. Select "Getting Started". Enter your full email address in the POP account box as shown, substituting "UserID" with your real UserID. Your Real name and Return Address are optional. Make sure Connection Method is Winsock (Network, PPP, SLIP). When finished select "Personal Info". | ![]() |
| Your email address should appear in the POP account. The other fields are optional. The Dialup UserID is not necessary if you are using Eudora Light with the Internet Explorer or Netscape browsers as it will use the dialup interface associated with them. Press Hosts. | ![]() |
| Verify the POP account email address. SMTP is required and should be rapfire.net (NOT rapidfire.net). Ph and Finger are not needed. Press Checking Mail. | ![]() |
| Set the options for checking mail as shown. If you want Eudora to check mail periodically while it is running then change "Check for mail every" to a non zero value. Low settings, such as less than 10 minutes, will interfere with your browser's performance. Click on save password if you do not want to enter your password when Eudora is first started. Do not enable "Leave mail on server" unless you always read it from another computer. This will cause your mailbox to eventually become full and the mail server will no longer accept mail for delivery if that happens. Press "Sending Mail" | ![]() |
| Verify settings are the same as shown. Press OK. | ![]() |
The remaining category settings are set to normal defaults and should work as is. If you experience problems please send mail to support@rapfire.net.
